Highlights along the Swiss Path

The Swiss Path

Since its opening in the anniversary year of 1991, the "Swiss Path" has combined living history with unique nature. The hiking trail runs for around 35 kilometers around the southern part of Lake Lucerne, the Lake of Uri, past places steeped in history and spectacular views. Each of the 26 cantons is represented by a symbolic section of the trail - a symbol of cohesion and diversity.

Lake Uri

As the setting for the Tell legend and thanks to its breathtakingly beautiful landscape, Lake Lucerne is one of the country's most popular excursion destinations. The most impressive part is Lake Uri, which is up to 200 meters deep and stretches eleven kilometers south from Brunnen. Lake Lucerne shimmers a gentle blue, while Lake Uri is green and harsh - like a deeply cut fjord between steep banks.

smarTrail - free family experience

The new smarTrail® Harderband is aimed particularly at young explorers. The starting point is at Brunnen station, the destination at Flüelen station - making it ideally accessible by train and boat. The interactive adventure trails work very simply via smartphone, without an app.
