The Churfirsten Round Trip combines train, PostBus, and mountain railways into a unique adventure route around the Churfirsten. At 2,262 meters above sea level, you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of Lake Walen, the Toggenburg, and the Alps from the Chäserrugg.

Bloderchäs
At the Chäserrugg summit restaurant, you can enjoy regional specialties. The menu includes Bloderchäs ravioli. This local cheese specialty is traditionally made from skim milk, has no rind, and has a milky, tangy flavor. Or as the cheesemakers say: “Like mozzarella, but with a ‘kick.’”
The Churfirsten
The Churfirsten are seven mountains in the canton of St. Gallen that together form a mountain range. They are part of the Appenzell Alps and lie between the Upper Toggenburg and Lake Walen. On the round trip, they can be seen from various perspectives—the 2,262-meter-high Chäserrugg, the destination of the trip, is one of the seven peaks.
World-Class Architecture
The summit building, designed by the renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, blends seamlessly into the Toggenburg mountain landscape and accentuates the unique silhouette of the Churfirsten. The new valley station in Unterwasser was also designed by the architects as the sixth building in the area.
