The vision
The Seedamm Cultural Centre was founded in 1976 by entrepreneur and patron Charles Vögele (1923–2002). At that time, the focus was on contemporary art. However, the presentation differed from that in other museums. Vögele felt that art was being presented in a ‘stuck’ way and wanted to change that with ‘dynamically designed art exhibitions’ – especially for young people.
The diversity of boredom
Where time stretches out and thoughts begin to wander, boredom is our silent companion. The multimedia exhibition ‘Boredom – quite diverse’ offers a new perspective on an underestimated emotion. Explore boredom from different angles.
50th anniversary
Starting in April, the anniversary exhibition at the Vögele Cultural Centre will show how Charles Vögele realised his vision and how the cultural centre has changed over time. The special exhibition will run until early October 2026, alongside the ‘Die LANGEWEILE’ exhibition at the cultural centre.
