Ticino platter on the Treno Gottardo

The Ticino platter can be booked exclusively on three morning Gotthard Train services – Monday to Sunday (from June to September) and Monday to Friday (from October to May).

Description

Enjoy a fine platter on the Treno Gottardo during your journey to Ticino, featuring Ticino cheese, meat specialties, or a combination of both – accompanied by handmade crisp bread. Order your preferred version of the “Piatto Ticinese” conveniently up to the day before your trip and enjoy authentic Ticino specialties directly on the train from Airolo onwards. All products are locally produced: from the cheese dairy Gottardo in Airolo and the butcher’s shop in Faido. All variants include handmade crisp bread.

You can choose between three different platter options:

  • Cheese platter (for 1–2 people) With three cheeses from the Gottardo cheese dairy in Airolo: Gottardo, Gottardo Grotta, and Merlottino.

  • Meat platter (for 1–2 people) With a selection of Ticino cured meat specialties: salami, prosciutto crudo, coppa, and pancetta coppata.

  • Complete Ticino platter (for 2–3 people) The ideal sharing option: you receive both the cheese and the meat platter.

In addition, the Treno Gottardo bistro offers matching drinks for purchase. Available are, among others, non-alcoholic Gazzosa lemonades from Personico in the Leventina valley, as well as red and white wine “Vino Traverso” from the Chiericati winery in Bellinzona.
