The unique atmosphere along the route with lots of clapping hands, cheers and live music make the run an unforgettable experience. Whether it's a 42-kilometer marathon, a 21-kilometer half marathon or a 10-kilometer CityRun: The route leads past world-famous Lucerne sights - and sometimes even through them.

Every year, 13,000 runners line up at the start in Lucerne and are cheered on by over 50,000 fans.

Course highlights:

• Start directly on Lake Lucerne

• Past the luxury hotel, Chapel Bridge and water tower

• View of the mountain panorama of Central Switzerland

• Around the Horw peninsula along Lake Lucerne

• Along the shores of Lake Alpnach with a view of Obwalden

• Horw atmosphere zone

• Passage from the FC Lucerne football stadium and the Lucerne Culture and Convention Center (KKL)

• Through the middle of Lucerne's old town

• Finish at the Swiss Museum of Transport

Arrival: with the Treno Gottardo or the Voralpen-Express to Lucerne
