Every year during Advent, the city of St. Gallen is transformed into a sea of nearly 600 stars. They twinkle and dance in a light show designed specifically for the Swiss Star Market, bathing St. Gallen’s Old Town—including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Abbey District—in a magical glow. The specially decorated Christmas tree on Klosterplatz, in the heart of the Abbey District, adds an extra touch of festive Christmas cheer to the Star Market. The Christmas market invites visitors to stroll and enjoy the atmosphere. On Gallusplatz, visitors will find a diverse selection of handmade gifts, festive decorations, and Christmas treats in around 45 market stalls.
