Description

From Zuoz train station the route first goes down to the other side of the river to the golf course and then follows the edge of the forest to S-chanf. Outside S-chanf, a natural road leads left under the tracks and diagonally up into the forest towards Chapella. At the fork down to Chapella, follow the hiking trail to Susauna. From Susauna, an alp road leads further towards Scaletta Pass, an important traffic route during the packers' era. The first section up to Alp Pignaint is a nice natural road, after that the road gets steeper and the condition worsens a bit. Shortly after, the valley opens up and the day's destination, Alp Funtauna, is reached. The return is on the same road back to Susauna. After Susauna, take the paved road to Chapella. A short stretch on the main road before a natural road leads right up to S-chanf. Through the rustic Engadin village S-chanf, at the end of the village the trail branches off to the right. One last short ascent and then it goes down to Zuoz, passing the beautiful village square and back to the train station.
