Description

From the viewing platform of the Napoleon Tower, which can be reached via over 200 steps, a magnificent panoramic view awaits. However, the current tower is not the first; already in 1829 Louis Napoléon III. built the «Belvedère zu Hohenrain». The later Emperor of France, who spent his youth on the nearby Arenenberg, is said to have enjoyed the panoramic view of the land even then.

The route then passes the Napoleon Museum Thurgau. Like a precious jewel, the magnificent complex where Napoleon III., the last Emperor of France, spent the years between 1815 and 1838 together with his mother Hortense, stands on the Arenenberg. After a short descent to Mannenbach, you reach the former fishing village of Ermatingen, and then continue to Gottlieben.
