Description

The hike starts in Klingenzell. Here is the pilgrimage church “Seven Sorrows of Mary,” which is known far beyond the region as a place of pilgrimage and also because of its beautiful location high above the Untersee. After a short walk, the Hochwacht viewpoint can also be reached, offering an impressive view of the Untersee area.

The route leads past Hörhausen, Homburg to the Napoleonturm. On the viewing platform of the Napoleonturm, which can be reached via 200 steps, a magnificent panoramic view awaits. However, the current tower is not the first; in 1829 Louis Napoléon III built the “Belvedère at Hohenrain.” The future Emperor of France, who spent his youth on the nearby Arenenberg, is said to have already enjoyed the view of the countryside back then.
