Winteregg - Oeschinen Lake route

From the train station, the path leads across the valley floor of Kandersteg in 10 - 15 minutes to the valley station of the Oeschinen gondola. With the modern gondola, you reach the mountain station Oeschinen (1682 m above sea level) in a few minutes. At the foot of the imposing Blüemlisalp massif, the comfortable path leads over the ski slopes through the forest hiking trail to the frozen Oeschinen Lake. With sufficiently thick ice cover, you might also meet an ice fisherman on the mountain lake. A little insider tip is a detour along the left lakeshore to the ice tower – nature as an artist! Back the same way. The footpath from the lake to the village is closed in winter!
