Wildhornhütte (2303 m asl) via Iffighore

The route begins at the former Alpenrösli restaurant. The path leads through numerous pastures always close to the forest up to Pöris. Here the tree line is reached. Over the Hohberg, a wide mountain ridge, one ascends to the Iffighore. From the summit above Iffigsee, you enjoy a wonderful panorama. The descent to Iffigsee is short but very beautiful with good powder snow. Now comes the second ascent, which goes over Sandbode to the Wildhornhütte. The Wildhornhütte is an ideal starting point for high alpine tours, for example to Wildhorn or Schnidehorn. The descent from the hut over the frozen Iffigsee to Iffigenalp is quite easy but scenically stunning.

Optionally, you can take a Taxi 4x4 to Iffigenalp. From here it is about 700 meters altitude gain through the Iffig valley past the frozen Iffigsee to the Wildhornhütte. This alternative is also very beautiful scenically. However, the summit success must be waited for until after the overnight stay in the Wildhornhütte.
