Description
After the Schützefahrbrügg at the far southwest of Münsingen, the path leads about 500 m slightly uphill through the Aarwald. In spring, a distinctive scent of wild garlic fills the air here. Past the Oberaar horse farm, magnificent yellow carpets of flowers spread out on the plains between Unteraar, Rain, and Schwarze. A pleasant silence belies how close one is walking past the centers of Belp and Münsingen. After a very short and gentle descent, you reach Vehweid. The place lives up to its name, as splendid representatives of Simmental spotted cattle still graze here. On the only short section with hard surface, you cross the road and continue for about 700 m to Färhubel. On the other side of the Giesse, in the nature reserve, one almost feels like in the Everglades because of the greenish shimmering ponds and pools and the branches and trees extending into the water. The renaturation of the river and stream courses has created a magnificent floodplain here. Along the blue-green Aare, the wide forest path leads to the Hunzigebrügg, where you cross the Aare. In the Hunzigenau, the newly designed Aare river course with its wide sand and gravel banks invites you to stay at the Aare beach. Finally, you return through the Stude Forest to the starting point at Schützefahrbrügg in Münsingen.
