Wiesental bike route to Basel

The Wiesental bike route is an old railway track on which a narrow-gauge railway operated between Zell i.W. and Todtnau until 1967. Today the old railway line is well prepared, so you can comfortably cycle out into the Wiesental all the way to Basel. Starting from Schönau, the route passes the interesting Textile Museum in Zell, the Hebel House in Hausen, the town center of Schopfheim, and the Rötteln castle ruins just before Lörrach, before crossing the Swiss border just before Basel. From Basel, take the regional train back to Zell im Wiesental and from there cycle the last few kilometers back to Schönau.
