Wald – Bachtel – Wald: "Enjoyable hiking"

First, we keep to the left and climb up to Blattenbach. Where the hiking trail branches, the route follows a part of the main road straight ahead and then immediately right to follow the little-used Unterbachstrasse uphill towards Unterbach, which is not marked as a hiking trail. Once there, we rejoin the hiking trail and take the direct path via Orn to Bachtel. The view from the observation tower is worth the effort of the climb: many prominent peaks of the Alpine range as well as Pfäffikersee, Greifensee, and Zürichsee can be seen.

We follow the hiking trail through the forest towards Bachtelspalt and Bachtelhörnli, passing numerous fire pits. The path is steep, but in a very short time, we reach the valley floor and thus Bleiche Wald, one of the mentioned factory buildings. The tired limbs are pampered with a bath, sauna, or a soothing massage. Via Bleicheweg, we then return to Wald station.
