W44 Mittelberg - Sparenmoos - Site Alp

The hike starts from Mittelberg, where the e-postbus line 185 runs from early May to the end of October between Saanen and Jaun. The beautiful ridge path leads around the Schneitgrat to Hintere Schneit and offers grand views of the Romandie and the Saanenland.

From Bire, the path goes up to the mountain saddle Luegle and continues along Hundsrügg to Schiltenegg. At Schiltenegg, one of the many cozy alpine huts awaits, where you can buy traditional alpine cheese directly on site. The hut is located at 1800 meters elevation and offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

From Schiltenegg, you hike through breathtaking scenery, dotted with lush moor meadows, fragrant flowers, and majestic mountains, via Sparenmoos to Site-Alp. Here, you can review the hike and enjoy a refreshment or snack.

The charming hiking taxi brings hikers back down from idyllic Sparenmoos to Zweisimmen at 15:00! It runs Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A reservation until 17:00 the previous day is required (Tourism Info Point Zweisimmen: +41 33 722 11 33).
