Description

The Vreneli and Hans-Joggeli route is a special experience in the municipality of Guggisberg that connects history and nature. The hike starts in the village center of Guggisberg and follows a lightly trafficked road before the path turns left and continues on gravel and field paths towards Guggershorn. The well-maintained trails invite you to follow in the footsteps of the famous lovers. Those who want to enjoy the impressive view from Guggershorn reach the summit via a steep wooden staircase.

Along the way, several places invite you to relax and marvel. The first two are located below the forest and on the ridge in front of the distinctive Nagelfluh rock, where a barbecue spot also invites grilling. From the viewing platform of Guggershorn, the path continues eastwards towards Schwendelberg. On the saddle between Guggershorn and Schwendelberg lies another rest area where you can enjoy the breathtaking view. The ascent to the highest point, Schwendelberg, is rewarded with another magnificent viewpoint and a barbecue area.

The descent to Riffenmatt is steep and eventually ends in the village, from where the hiking trail leads back to Guggisberg along a road and over field paths. Alternatively, you can descend directly from the saddle to Walenhaus, the home of Hans-Joggeli, where a final resting place awaits hikers in the middle of the forest. The return journey to Guggisberg is either via the marked hiking trail or by post bus. Visit the Vreneli Village website to see the exact route details.

Experience the fascinating story and the picturesque views on this unique route!
