Views from Hochalp

The ascent from the Bruggerenwald South parking lot to Rossmoos starts off easy and then becomes steeper. Cross the Rötelbach and walk along the paved road upwards towards Alp Nasen. After the last curve, a magnificent view opens up that magically captivates you. From a distance, the Swiss flag of the Hochalp mountain inn waves. The highest point at 1530 m above sea level must be earned, and from there you can't get enough of the view – the Säntis massif, the Churfirsten, and the Glarus mountains. Benches and tables invite you to linger outside. Inside, the cozy mountain inn reminds you of grandmother's times. The menu is authentic, and the sausage and salsiz are homemade by the host. Refreshed, you go downhill the same way and stay on the paved road back to the starting point, the Bruggerenwald parking lot.
