Views and insights: from the show dairy to the Lueg

Not far from the starting point is the famous Emmental show dairy. A special, culinary and experiential start to the route. The path leads through Affoltern, gently ascending, and crosses the Jakobsweg at Junkholz. Soon the Lueg and thus the highest point (888 m above sea level) is reached. The Lueg is a historic site: it was formerly used as a mobilisation and alarm fire watch site; today the cavalry monument stands here. A short break is worthwhile as you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Alpine panorama. Soon after you reach the country inn Lueg and continuously descend, passing the two viewpoints Rachisberg and Otzeberg. Through Rüegsauschachen the hiking path leads over the Emme bridge to the destination, the station in Hasle-Rüegsau.
