Via Alta Vallemaggia- Stage 7N: Fusio-Capanna Cristallina

The whole Val Sambuco on foot, to discover the origins of the Maggia. Once you reach the dam near Fusio, the path climbs the abandoned mountain of Larecc and then follows a ledge suspended over the blue fjord of Lake Sambuco. Later the forest thins out and gives way to the meadows on the left side of the valley, the sunny and panoramic one. The path runs above Campo la Torba, an alpine pasture over which Airolo and Fusio had a long dispute. Then we overlook the Narèt basin, adorned with numerous natural ponds. A brief interlude in the upper Val Torta, a side valley of Val Bedretto, allows us to circumvent the Cristallina massif to finally reach the homonymous modern hut.
