Via Alta Vallemaggia - Stage 14: Capanna Ribia-Capanna Alzasca
Informationen zur Route
Best Time of Year
Description
Three and a half hours of walking to get from Ribia to Capanna Alzasca, plus the necessary breaks to catch your breath and contemplate the landscape. For two hours, we move on terrain without a defined path, or only a faint trace. From Capanna Ribia, the trail leads through alpine terrain up to the Cima di Catögn and along the ridge to the homonymous Bocchetta. A short detour to the other side of the valley reaches the next pass, Bocchetta Cansgéï. From there it would be possible to descend straight to the hut, but the official trail takes a slightly longer route. Rightly so, because by taking the longer way we get to visit one of the most famous small lakes in Ticino, the Lago d'Alzasca. A jewel surrounded by majestic mountains and alpine flora. A wonderful place to enjoy peace and the nature that reigns here thanks to its remoteness. One last short descent and Capanna Alzasca is reached.
