Description
On the valley path from Gadmen to Innertkirchen, you mostly travel on flat or gently descending trails. This offers insight into diverse cultural landscapes.
A charming way to explore the wild Gadmen valley is the hike along the valley path from Gadmen to Innertkirchen. Mostly, you walk on gravel roads, sometimes on little-used small roads, and occasionally on meadow paths.
The valley path leads from Gadmen first over Furen to Twirgi. The pretty hamlet is surrounded by the diverse meadows and pastures of the Firschlachteni, Erli, and Hofstatt areas. In recognition of their efforts to preserve these landscape gems, their managers were honored in 2012 with the Cultural Landscape Award of the Oberland-East region. The highlight of the area is an extensively used, species-rich pasture with many stone walls, bushes, and fruit trees. The terrain is interspersed with rocky sections, and there are damp spots with orchids and cotton grasses.
From the village Nessental, it goes on to Schwendi, then along a meadow path through a wide, green plain flanked on both sides by mountain forest. From the hamlet Hopflauenen, you gently descend to Wiler; from there, the path descends a bit steeper to Innertkirchen.
