Description
The Malvaglia valley is renowned for its five so-called "villages." These are ancient villages that were inhabited year-round until the early 1900s. Dagro is one of these villages, located on a terrace on the sunniest right side, very panoramic and the endpoint of the cableway departing from Malvaglia. In Dagro, in particular, six wooden buildings dating back to the 14th century have been cataloged.
The first part of the route runs along a road that is partly paved and partly dirt, which from Dagro first leads to Anzano and then climbs up to Cusiè. Upon reaching the parking lot, proceed along the broad path leading towards the Quarnèi Hut, then turn and climb along a trail up to the highest point of the route, at 1822 m above sea level.
At this point, you travel along a very panoramic trail overlooking the Malvaglia valley and the mountains above it, exposed largely to the south-southeast, crossing small typical hamlets and conifer plantations.
Emerging from the forest, you find yourself near Cascine di Dagro, then descend along the road through flowering meadows to the Sass Malt refreshment point and the upper station of the cableway.
