Untersee art route

The Untersee art route leads to places at Western Lake Constance where artists once set up their easels and captured the view of Lake Constance in oil or pastel. Large-format metal steles by the roadside mark the locations. The viewing window embedded in the stele shows the artist’s perspective; for comparison with today’s view, a reproduction of the corresponding artwork is attached below the viewing window. It also includes information about which museum or location displays the original painting. The art route thus connects a total of 30 image steles and 6 museums or artist houses at Western Lake Constance.
