Treis Auas - circular hike

The ruins of Jörgenberg are located on the outermost rocky spur of an elongated ridge to the east of Waltensburg. Along with Kropfenstein, Grünenfels Castle and Vogelberg Castle, Jörgenberg was one of the original four castles in Waltensburg and was already inhabited in the Middle Bronze Age. Jörgenberg was first mentioned as a castellum in Bishop Tello's will in 765. The technically easy circular hike lies on the sunny side of the Surselve and is often accessible in spring.
