Description

From the turning loop of the bus from Thun, the path runs along the edge of the forest towards Allmendingen Amerika. After about 1.5 km, the trail crosses the Glütschbach, which gives its name to the valley ahead. Until the early 18th century, the Kander flowed here. On the left is a small cave that can be illuminated by pedal power. Before reaching the Guntelsey shooting range, the eye falls on dripstone caves located to the right of the path. Resting places invite you to linger. The hiking trail then winds along the gently gurgling Glütschbach to the fork at the "Alti Schlyffi." From here, a detour to the Strättligturm is recommended (+1 hour there and back). Here the route leaves the Glütschbach to flow into the Kander valley after 20 minutes.

The next 2 km are walked with views of the sometimes calmly flowing, sometimes wildly foaming river. At Kapf, the Kander and Simme merge to flow from here as the Kander into Lake Thun. The Simme is crossed via a covered wooden bridge. The well-marked hiking path now runs parallel to the watercourse to our day's destination, the Schnitzel barn at Brodhüsi. You can enjoy every conceivable kind of schnitzel here: from one piece to one meter for the whole hiking group! Since walking is not so comfortable with a full belly, you can get a lift from the bus stop at the restaurant to Thun or Wimmis.

Those who still want to take a digestive walk can reach Wimmis train station in 15 minutes.
