To the Sibe Brünne

From the Simmenfälle restaurant, a narrow mountain path leads directly along the Simmenfälle to the Barbara Bridge (please use only upwards!) or you can take the nature trail. On the Barbara Bridge, the spray splashes your face and you can almost touch the waterfall. The Barbara Bridge or the dam in front of the waterfall is a weir to divert the young Simme. This measure to protect the valley floor from flooding was already taken in the late 18th century. Barbara was the first name of the wife of the then director of the spa, who initiated the development of the Simmenfälle and the weir for tourists.

It continues windingly up into the forest. Deep incisions, which the Simme has carved into the rock, can be seen. Arriving at Alp Rezliberg, you are at the birthplace of the Simme. In summer, up to 2,800 liters per second flow over the seven springs. The "Sibe Brünne", a magical waterfall, is a recognized source of power and a wonderful place to linger.
