Description
This circular hike starts in the small Grisons village of Versam and leads into the wild romantic Rhine Gorge – often referred to as the "Swiss Grand Canyon". The path winds through bright forests, over open heights with wide views and down to quiet gravel banks on the shores of the young Rhine. Along the way, the vertical, light limestone walls impress, rising up to 300 meters above the turquoise-green water. Depending on the route, there are several viewing platforms such as "Islabord" or quiet places right by the water.
The combination of wild rock formations, calm river passages and lush vegetation makes this route a true nature experience.
