Description
This exciting hike leads us to two absolute highlights: First, we hike steadily uphill from the station in Meiringen to the Reichenbach Falls. This is especially well-known to crime fiction lovers: because here the English master detective Sherlock Holmes fell to his death with his archrival Moriarty in a story by Conan Doyle. But not only because of the literary connection is a visit to the waterfall recommended: the 300-meter-high cascade with seven individual waterfalls is definitely an impressive sight.
The route then continues through the Aare Gorge: Over wooden planks and through tunnels, you walk alongside roaring masses of water right at the rock face.
Since both excursion sites are very popular, it is worth setting out early!
