To Aspisee - the idyllic lake in the forest

On the municipality area of Obersteckholz, in the midst of a beautiful forest, is Aspisee - a popular excursion destination for young and old. The small forest lake was created at the inauguration of the new main office of the Ersparniskasse Langenthal at the end of the eighties in a glacial meltwater channel. The area around the small lake offers a great variety of plants and animals – especially in spring with the frog and toad mating season.

The semi-open forest hut and the seating areas invite you to linger. A barbecue spot and the babbling of the fountain complete the idyll. At the overflow of the small lake and the resulting brook flowing through the forest, children find an exciting natural playground.
