Description

From Schwarzwaldalp, it goes along the sunny slope of the Reichenbach valley via Pfanni into the wide basin of the upper tier of the Breitenboden alp. The view over the flower-rich alpine meadows towards Eiger, Wetterhorn, Wellhorn, the Engelhörner, and as far as the Titlis area is magnificent. For their commitment to preserving this scenic gem, the Breitenboden alpine cooperative was awarded the Cultural Landscape Prize of the Oberland-Ost region in 2011.

Then, in gentle ups and downs, you hike above the tree line downhill along the valley. The huts in Grindelfeld and at Grindelschärm belong to Alp Grindel. A narrow path leads steeply down to Alp Chaltenbrunnen. From there, you continue on a winding gravel road, partly over pastureland, partly through mountain forest, to Seilialp, where you enjoy the magnificent view of Rosenlaui and Wetterhorn one last time. The final part of the descent is again very steep, leading down a forest trail into Zwirgi.
