Description

The Thurgau Thurweg is a gift to the people of Thurgau. It aims to bring the population closer to the river that gave the canton its name. Water as a companion on hikes has fascinated people for a long time. Therefore, the hiking trail runs as close to the river as possible and crosses most of the bridges. The constant change in the trail’s position between the two banks makes the hike varied and shows the different facets of the river.

The Thurweg is divided into three stages. The first part leads from Bischofszell to Weinfelden. From there, the second stage starts, which crosses various footbridges and bridges to Frauenfeld. The cantonal capital is the starting point of the last part, which continues along the Thur to Andelfingen.
