Description
From Weinfelden station, the hiking trail leads to the Ganggelisteg, a delicate wire rope bridge. On this bridge, the Thur can be crossed towards Bussnang. The path follows the Thur downstream but initially on the north side of the river, passing the Wiide canal power plant, towards the Amlikon bridge, where it crosses the pilgrim's path.
After another three kilometers on the same river side, the old wooden bridge of Eschikofen awaits a visit. Built in 1837, it is still a masterpiece of woodworking today. After a short detour on the south side of the Thur, the path crosses the river again, this time over the 174-meter-long railway bridge at Eschikofen.
South of Grüneck, the hiking trail crosses the motorway bridge, reaches the beaver path in Pfyn, and then crosses the river again. The path then leads into the area of the large common land and ends in Frauenfeld.
