Thurgau Panorama route (Bischofszell – Wil)

This route starts in Bischofszell. Through the charming, historic old town, it goes down to the Thur river. The crossing takes place over the crooked arch bridge from 1487, the longest still preserved arch bridge in Switzerland. The route now steadily but well distributed ascends through many small hamlets up to the Nollen. This viewpoint with a restaurant is one of the highest elevations in Thurgau. Despite its mere 733 meters above sea level, you enjoy a comprehensive panoramic view from Lake Constance to the Alps.

Through the village of Hosenruck and an extensive forest area, a descent follows before the route ascends again through the Nieselberg forest to its highest point. Finally, it continues – always on forest paths – downhill again and soon reaches the destination of the route, the abbey town of Wil. This small-town character place can also be proud of its well-preserved old town.
