Description

The Thurgau Panorama route leads right through "Mostindien," as the rural canton covered with orchards is also called, passing farms, nature reserves, traditional farming villages with well-maintained half-timbered houses. The highest elevation in the canton, the Nollen, is only 733 meters above sea level, yet from here you have an extensive panoramic view from Lake Constance to the Alps.

Along the way, you pass the historic water castle Hagenwil and then glide with the ferryman on a motorless longboat across the Sitter. On a root path, you stroll through a nature reserve meadow with five fish ponds, created by the monks of St. Pelagiberg monastery.

Both stage destinations, Bischofszell and Wil, can proudly boast their well-preserved old towns. Bischofszell even received the Wakker prize for its exemplary renovated historical center.
