Description
The stage starts at the train station in Steckborn and climbs a gentle hill at the village exit. After Hardhof, a longer forest section follows, offering beautiful views of the Lower Lake again and again. First, it goes down to Glarisegg Castle, which is now used as a seminar house. The grounds offer many beautiful places to linger: beach, forest, mountain stream with waterfall. Then the path leads back up to the Neuburg castle ruin. The medieval ruin is not only the most significant and largest castle complex on the southern shore of the Lower Lake but also the best preserved. Thanks to the barbecue area and play facilities, it is popular not only with walkers. Finally, the circular hiking trail passes the idyllic Neuburger pond and leads to the upper part of Mammern, from where the stage destination is soon reached.
