Thurgau circular hiking trail (Bischofszell – Hauptwil)

From Bischofszell train station, the hiking trail leads eastward to the railway crossing. After a short walk on the main road, the turnoff follows to climb into the wonderful, cool forest of the Bischofsberg.

Shortly before exiting the forest, a signpost points to the idyllic Waldschenke. Once arrived, visitors are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view from Säntis to the Glarus Alps. The Waldschenke is a self-service restaurant. At the kiosk, guests can get refreshing drinks, various freshly prepared dishes, and delicious specialties directly from the charcoal grill. Children can enjoy themselves at the inviting playground with climbing tower, slide, swings, and carousel.

The hiking trail now leads for about 15 more minutes through well-kept residential areas to Hauptwil.
