Description
Since 1980, there has been a 200-kilometer long, well-signposted circular hiking trail in Thurgau that passes by many of the most beautiful spots in the apple canton, such as 25 small lakes and almost as many castles and palaces. It was planned over two years by five enthusiastic hikers from Buchackern and the surrounding area, who obtained permits, printed signs, and marked the paths.
Since 1995, the new circular trail has replaced the old one. It was supplemented in collaboration with its creators. The division into 24 sections allows you to create an individual program based on personal fitness or available time. All start and end points of the stages are easily accessible by public transport.
Yellow directional signs with a green route field sticker "Thurgauer Rundwanderweg" complement the well-proven yellow signposts that mark the Thurgau hiking trails.
