Thurgau circular hiking route (Stein am Rhein – Nussbaumen)

From the southern Rhine bank, the Thurgau circular hiking route ascends from Stein am Rhein via Neuhaus to Speckhof. Before the route then leads into the shady forest, it is worth looking back at the Ramsen plain with the imposing volcanic cones of Hohentwiel, Hohenhewen and Hohenstoffeln.

At the large forest clearing near Rappenhof, you get a magnificent view of the Untersee before you walk back into the forest. Above the village of Nussbaumen, you leave the forest and are amazed by the magnificent view on the south side of the Seerücken. In good weather conditions, the view extends over the Seebach valley to the Alpine chain. Now the path leads steeply down to Nussbaumen. The charming village with beautiful half-timbered houses lies on the western outlier of the Seerücken in a beautiful southern location.
