Description

Until the exit of the village Neukirch an der Thur, the hiking trail follows the main road, then turns south. Through a varied landscape, characterized by meadows, fields, wooded areas and agricultural settlements, you reach Olmerswil, where the experiential camel farm is located.

The hike continues to Entetswil and then on natural roads eastwards to Leuhus and to Chatzensteig Castle. The short, steep descent to the Thur can be difficult in wet weather. Finally, the trail leads over the medieval Thur bridge across the river. This legendary bridge was built in 1487 and is the longest still preserved natural stone bridge in Switzerland. This area is popular for swimming, resting, and barbecuing. After a short ascent, you reach the stage destination Bischofszell.
