Best Time of Year
Description
The path leads uphill from Mammern station. After a short forest section, a detour to the scenic rest area Hochwacht is worthwhile, which offers an impressive view of the Untersee region. Here, families like to use the barbecue area and benches. At Klingenzell, you then return to the circular hiking trail, which then goes downhill through the forest. Soon you cross the main road and reach the lakeside path to Eschenz.
After passing the public bathing area by the boat harbor, you continue across the wide field south of the Eschenzer Horn, where the island of Werd can already be seen. Finally, following the shore, you reach Stein am Rhein. A visit to the town of Stein am Rhein is worthwhile; crossing the Rhine bridge leads you into picturesque alleys that fascinate in every season.
