Description
This stage starts at the city train station of Kreuzlingen, passes through the district of Emmishofen to the railway viaduct, and then follows the railway line, which is crossed near Girsberg Castle. Here, the inventor of the rigid airship, Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, spent his youth.
Then a romantic stream ravine is crossed, and at elevation, Castell Castle appears. Afterwards, it passes the southern edge of Tägerwilen and the elevation near Triboltingen. Following the ridge, you enjoy a wonderful view of the Seerhein and Reichenau. Finally, you reach the former fishing village of Ermatingen. Well-maintained, pretty fisherman's houses, stately half-timbered buildings, French castles, historic churches, developed cycling and hiking trails, and the Lower Lake make this area an idyllic place.
