Thurberg circular hiking route

From Weinfelden station, the path always ascends, first through the picturesque small town and then past Weinfelden Castle to Thurberg, a wonderful viewpoint with views of Säntis and the Alpstein range. The restaurant of the same name offers refined cuisine in a cozy setting. It continues through vineyards to the village of Ottoberg with its typical Thurgau half-timbered houses. Above the Kemmental, the circular hiking route then leads eastwards toward Berg.

Above the village of Berg, there is a nicely located picnic spot at Hüttliberg, inviting visitors to linger and, with a fireplace, also to grill. Finally, the path returns along the southern slope back to Weinfelden Castle, always with views of Weinfelden, the Thur valley, and Säntis. The return path to the station is the same as the outbound route. Thanks to the signage with blue signposts, the path is also easy to find.
