Description

Steeply rise the flanks of the Sigriswiler and Güggis ridge at the entrance to the Justistal. The well-paved roads at the entrance of the valley are lined with large boulders from these impressive mountain ridges. The hike continues via «Püfel» to «Gross Mittelberg» and «Hinterstberg». The route has very little incline and runs along a well-developed road through the valley. Then comes the actual ascent to the «Sichle», which impressively presents itself already at the valley entrance. At the last alpine farm, where a small refreshment can be taken, the actual mountain hiking trail finally begins. A rough ascent over roots and stones makes many hikers pause and catch their breath. The mountain trail narrows increasingly towards the «Sichle». Once there, the pass reveals itself as a narrow ridge between two peaks with views over the hilly Emmental and the Bernese Oberland, including the distinctive Niesen and the Frutigland. On a narrow meadow path, it finally goes down from the «Sichle» towards the Eriz valley. Then it becomes rocky and stony, several gullies must be overcome until the «Obere Schörizhütte» is reached. Up to there, the various rock layers of the «Sieben Hengste» can also be admired. Via «Untere Schörizhütte» natural and paved roads lead to the Säge restaurant in Innereriz with the eponymous STI bus stop.
