Description

First, however, you go up to the Guggenbühel. This is the viewpoint where racing driver Michael Schumacher once wanted to build his residence. Well, Schumacher didn’t come, so hikers can enjoy the view over Lake Constance in complete peace.

After the hamlet of Schönenbühl, the hiking trail follows the Klusbach and passes a collapsed house after 300 meters. These are the remains of the once proud Heldmühle, one of nine mills on the Klusbach. Since the 16th century, grain was ground and bread baked here, and an inn and sawmill were operated. It ended in 1904 and the property began to decay. Novelist Walter Züst was inspired by the idyllic location of the Heldmühle and has the main character Agatha Roner in his novel “Die Dornesslerin” start her first job as a maid here around 1600.
