Through an impressive gorge

From Moutier station westwards. Cross under the railway line twice, cross La Birse and the cantonal road and pass the cemetery with the chapel of Chalière. Follow the road for another 400 m, then a driveway branches off into the forest. This leads steeply past the Petit Champoz farm upwards over the mountain flank. Don't miss the short detour from point 999 to the upper edge of the Gorges de Court (point 1036). The deep view into the gorge and over Moutier as well as the view to the ridge of the Graitery opposite are unique! Wonderful views are also offered by the gentle descent over the pastures of Pâturage de Mont Girod: to the south lies Montoz, to the west Moron, between them the broad Vallée de Tavannes. At point 932 turn towards the gorge and pass the Mont Girod farmstead, brushing the small Lac Vert in the forest (point 838 / the lake is not accessible!), steeply down into the elongated street village of Court, which already served as a base in Roman times on the connecting road Aventicum–Pierre Pertuis–Augusta Raurica. The picturesque path through the Gorges de Court leads through a tunnel, over rock-anchored walkways and suspended footbridges. The limestone bands of the gorge present an impressive sight. Through a wooded valley, you reach the starting point Moutier.
