The Varied. “Solothurn–Balmberg–Weissenstein” route

The varied route follows SwitzerlandMobil MTB route 44 up to Hinter-Weissenstein. After starting at the main station, the path leads northwards across the old town and villa districts of Solothurn. After the St. Niklaus church, the city forest begins. You overcome the first height meters. Through Galmis, you reach Balm near Günsberg, where you leave the main road towards the Balm ruin. You overcome steep hairpin bends in the forest until the junction with the Balmberg Pass Road. You leave the rope park at the pass height on the right. Steep and partly rough, it goes on the north side of the Röti up to the Weissenstein plateau. You cross the Weissenstein Pass Road and drive comfortably towards Hinter Weissenstein. Dreamlike views. At the signpost point 1181, you leave route 44 and ride via forest and hiking trails to Oberdorf station and the valley station of the Weissenstein cable car. Immediately after the railway overpass, turn left. Via Fallern and Rüttenen, you return to the starting point.
