The Trail of Marvels

The Malcantone area boasts a fascinating variety of landscapes, running the gamut from lakeshores to the summit of Monte Lema and encompassing hillsides dotted with villages and extensive woodland. The Trail of Marvels is a just over 6 km loop (taking around two hours on foot) which is particularly suited to families; the itinerary is especially interesting for devotees of historic buildings and ruins. Along the signposted path which winds its way through the valley of the Magliasina river, information boards illustrate the region’s most interesting features: chapels, cereal and chestnut mills and the little that remains of old mines. Another gem to be visited along the route is the forge. The fauna and flora is particularly fascinating whilst the remains of a castle can also be seen.
