The historic salt route - Aargau High Rhine section

The precious good salt was mostly transported overland to Lake Constance and from there shipped with cargo sailboats and Weidlingen boats to the nodes of the salt route. Along the Via Rhenana, the long-distance trail from Kreuzlingen to Basel, 16 salt points convey the history of this «waterway with a taste of salt». The audio pieces, presented by the character of Salinendirektor Glenck, tell stories about people, fates, and political upheavals between the late Middle Ages and modern times. Current references are indeed intended.
