Description
From Villeret station, the path leads through the village, past houses and fields to the edge of the forest. From here, the path winds uphill between shading trees. The closer you get to the cliffs, the narrower the path becomes. The rock basins of the gorge seem almost impassable, but the hiking trail is well developed. Ladders are installed at several points to facilitate the steep ascent. In this nature reserve, you often encounter chamois and marmots. The silence and beauty of the wilderness, as well as the diversity of flora and fauna, are indescribable here. Above the Combe Grède, the path continues over wooded pastures to the Métairie de Morat and further to the summit of the Chasseral. | The path starts at Villeret station and crosses the village, then fields to the forest edge. From there, the trail winds uphill among the trees providing freshness and becomes increasingly narrow as it approaches the cliffs. The rocky cirques of the gorges seem almost impassable but the hiking trail is well arranged and secured in several places by ladders that facilitate the steep climb. The nature reserve is home to chamois and marmots. The silence and beauty of the wilderness as well as the diversity of flora and fauna have been preserved. At the top of the Combe, the trail continues through wooded pastures to the Métairie de Morat, then from there to the summit of the Chasseral.
