The beaver is the best builder

In Jerisberghof, the bus stops right in front of the interesting Althus Farm Museum, which showcases farming life in earlier times. The route first goes towards the motorway, passes under the railway line to the Jerisberg Mill, and from there continues on the official hiking trail through the Biber Valley to the Biberaue.

Here you can see how the former maize field has changed over the last fifteen years with the help of beavers and some human support.

The further path leads variedly through villages, forests, and farmland to Murten. Before heading home, a stroll through the charming small town is worthwhile, and in one of the bakeries, buying a piece of Nidlekuchen, which tastes particularly good in Murten.
